Seventeen Lessons Learned

March 28, 2012 By R.George

Seventeen Lessons Learned
1. Duke can’t beat LeHigh.
2. Arriving at MARQUEE at 11:30pm on a Saturday night during March Madness is no good.
3. Pay attention to the obvious 14 Upsets for 2013.
4. In 2012, we sucked at choosing teams advancing in the NCAA tournament.
5. Offer to pay peoples taxes or dance in a squirrel suit to get more Facebook “likes”.
6. Mixing MARCHVEGAS with St. Patrick Day makes for one really, really big hangover.
7. Rick Pitino is the man and doesn’t lose in the Sweet 16.
8. Use Chuck D, Kenny G and the Fab Five to get the MV marketing message across.
9. Getting the proper props from ESPN sometimes is like pulling teeth from a tiger.
10. Kristin (fake name) from Portland really digs “Team Orange and Gold” (giggity).
11. Regardless of the past, we still forgive and will always love you Houston.
12. Norfolk State needs two days rest after major NCAA tournament wins.
13. Pace, patience and professionalism; hallmarks of all MARCHVEGAS partygoers.
14. Need to remember the 15 Words to Remember.
15. Be careful of any Roy Williams team advancing too far in the tourney, regardless of what the president says.
16. Who knew that March, Vegas, basketball, golf and holidays had so much in common?
17. Bracket greatness or no bracket greatness, nobody cares when you’re getting 4 days off from work.
