VCU Rams puts the smack down on the Butler Bulldogs. In a game you thought would be a lot closer, the Rams were off to the races as they lead from the start and totally obliterated the Butler Bulldogs. Butler will bounce back but it was a horse race they would probably rather forget.

An innocent 4 point lead turned to 8 then 10 then 15 then upwards of 20. By half-time the Rams were up 45 to 21 with VCU forcing 14 turnovers on Butler while the Rams only had three; a huge differential. The VCU full court press hung on the bulldogs like a wet blanket and just killed them slowly with a cancerous yet effective and rapid fashion. Needless to say, the game was over by then as the second half yielded more of the same. Final score was 84 to 52.

Butler will rebound, I’m sure of that but the question remains how far or how smart can the VCU Rams take their tenacity into the March Madness tourney and beat down teams at will? Maybe the MARCHVEGAS 4-day™ Holiday could help us all in focusing on our brackets while Coach Smart and the Rams show us whats in store come March? We shall see.
