Vegas Uncork’d, a food and wine festival, happens once a year, but it’s a spectacular example of the culinary star power that occupies this town year round. Every kind of culinary event you can imagine takes place during these four days from afternoon tea and elegant lunches to wine seminars and competitions that pit chefs against sommeliers. Everywhere you go someone is handing you something to eat or drink, reminding you that when it comes to having a full on foodie extravaganza, Las Vegas does it right.
This four day event, held over Mother’s Day weekend, is a chance for enthusiasts to not only rub elbows with the celebrities they may follow on TV, but also to eat the food from the hands that recreate these masters’ cuisines every day. As part of his Master Series dinner at his eponymous pub in Caesars Palace, even chef Gordon Ramsay told a roomful of guests “I feel bad for anyone eating at restaurants around the world tonight because the best chefs in the world are in Vegas right now.”
